Katie X (born Xiaohui Wang) is a painter, photographer and mixed media artist who meditatively marks the immediate space-time around her through the unity of mind, hand and materials. Originally from China, she studied landscape architecture and biology before committed herself to the path as an artist. Her multicultural and interdisciplinary background allows her to draw inspirations from a wide range of sources, breaking and reimagining the boundaries between the linguistic and the conceptual, the natural and the artificial, the deliberate and the spontaneous.
